Ghanaian Engineer Selected Among Four for Andela–Emergence AI Initiative
Kobby Owen was selected from Andela’s network of more than 150,000 technologists to contribute to advancing agentic AI and multi-agent systems for enterprise applications.
ACCRA, GHANA — Ghanaian software engineer Kobby Owen was selected as one of four engineers from Andela’s network of more than 150,000 technologists to participate in an initiative connected to the company’s partnership with Emergence AI, an artificial intelligence company specialising in agentic AI technologies.
The partnership, publicly announced on June 25, 2025, aims to equip software engineers with advanced skills in multi-agent artificial intelligence and help enterprises implement these technologies in real-world environments.
According to Andela’s official announcement, the collaboration combines Emergence AI’s agentic technologies with Andela’s global engineering network to develop practical approaches for deploying AI systems across enterprise operations.
Owen’s selection provided an opportunity to contribute to this emerging field, where AI agents are designed to reason, use tools, coordinate tasks, and execute complex workflows with varying levels of autonomy.
Advancing the Next Generation of AI Systems
Unlike conventional AI applications that primarily respond to individual prompts, agentic AI systems can be designed to manage multi-step processes and coordinate specialised agents to accomplish defined objectives.
The Andela–Emergence AI partnership focuses on training engineers in these technologies, deploying multi-agent systems for enterprise applications, and developing repeatable approaches that organisations can use to integrate AI into their operations.
The initiative reflects the growing demand for engineers who can do more than build conventional software applications, including professionals capable of designing, orchestrating, evaluating, and deploying intelligent systems.
Expanding Opportunities for African Technologists
Owen’s participation highlights the opportunities available to African software engineers as global technology companies invest in specialised AI expertise.
As businesses increasingly explore agentic AI, engineers with experience in backend systems, software architecture, and AI services are positioned to contribute to building the infrastructure and applications required to make these technologies useful at scale.
The partnership demonstrates how collaboration between technical talent networks and AI companies can help bridge the gap between emerging AI capabilities and their practical application in business.
For Owen, the experience represents a significant milestone in his engineering career and his continued development in AI services and platforms.
